My Glasses Shop began with a simple idea: choosing glasses should feel welcoming, personal and a little bit exciting.
Since opening in Poulton-le-Fylde in 2022, Emma has created a space where individual style and professional advice sit happily side by side.

Meet Emma Hutchinson.

From the workshop to the shop floor. A career built around glasses.
Emma’s optical career began while she was still at school, working Saturdays in an opticians in her hometown of Poulton-le-Fylde.
Eight years as a technician in a glazing laboratory gave her hands-on experience of how spectacles and lenses are made. She later returned to retail and trained as a dispensing optician while managing an independent practice on the Fylde coast.
That mix of workshop knowledge and time with customers shapes the way she approaches frames, lenses and the individual needs behind every prescription.
Why open a shop of her own?
Emma loved working with distinctive frames and carefully chosen lenses. She wanted to bring that experience to more people, with an approachable atmosphere and a focus on value.
In 2022, that idea became My Glasses Shop: an independent business with its own point of view, and plenty of room for yours.
