Let’s bring the details into focus

Understanding long-sightedness

Long-sightedness is also called hyperopia or hypermetropia. Nearby tasks can be harder to focus on.

What does long sight mean?

Close-up detail can look blurred, and tasks such as reading may feel tiring. An eye examination checks your sight and identifies the prescription you need.

Is it the same as needing reading glasses with age?

Not necessarily. Presbyopia is an age-related change in near focusing. Your eye-care professional can explain which changes affect your sight.

What happens next?
